How does The Mahjong Closet Society work?
Purchase your first qualifying Mahjong Closet set, choose the membership that fits your style, and begin earning Closet Credits each month.
Once you earn 6 Closet Credits, you become eligible for a Closet Refresh — allowing you to return your current eligible collection and select another available collection.
Your membership determines what is included in each Refresh.
What is a Closet Credit?
Closet Credits are the currency of The Mahjong Closet Society.
They are added automatically to your membership each month:
The Collection earns 1 Closet Credit per month.
The Reserve earns 2 Closet Credits per month.
The Vault earns 3 Closet Credits per month.
How many Closet Credits equal one Closet Refresh?
6 Closet Credits = 1 Closet Refresh.
A Closet Refresh gives you the opportunity to return your current eligible collection and choose a new available collection.
How many Closet Refreshes do I receive each year?
Your membership level determines how quickly you earn enough credits for a Refresh.

Do I have to give up my Mahjong set when I join?
No. Your first qualifying Mahjong Closet set purchase is your entry into the Society and establishes the collection you begin with.
When you use a Closet Refresh, you return your current eligible collection and receive your next one.
You always maintain one eligible Mahjong collection while participating in the Society.
How do I complete a Closet Refresh?
Once you have earned 6 Closet Credits:
1. Choose your next collection.
Select from the eligible collections currently available to your membership.
2. Return your current look.
Pack your current collection using your Mahjong Closet return packaging and prepaid return label.
3. Open something new.
Once your return is received and processed, we prepare your next collection.
Are all collections always available for a Closet Refresh?
Not necessarily.
Closet Refreshes are subject to collection availability, membership eligibility, inventory levels, and any limited-release restrictions.
Certain collections may be reserved for specific membership levels or released first to Founders, Vault, or Reserve members.
What is a Vacation Drop?
A Vacation Drop brings an eligible Mahjong Closet collection directly to an approved U.S. destination for your trip.
It allows you to enjoy a different collection while traveling without using a Closet Refresh.
Possible destinations may include approved hotels, resorts, vacation rentals, beach or lake houses, second homes, and other approved locations.
Do Vacation Drops use Closet Credits?
No.
Vacation Drops are a separate Society privilege and do not use Closet Credits or count toward your annual Closet Refreshes.

Founding Members receive one additional Vacation Drop each year based on their membership tier.
What is The Founding 100?
The Founding 100 are the first 100 members of The Mahjong Closet Society.
Each Founder receives an individual number from 001–100 and permanent recognition as one of the original members of the Society.
Only 100 Founding Memberships will ever be created.
What special benefits do Founders receive?
Founders receive privileges including:

What is The Founder’s Vote?
Only members of The Founding 100 receive voting privileges.
Founders may be invited to preview and vote on select future collections, artwork, special editions, design directions, and other creative decisions.
Can a Founder change membership tiers?
Yes.
A Founder may move between eligible Society membership tiers without losing Founder status.
Their original Founder number remains theirs.
What happens to my Founder status if I take a break from membership?
Founder status is permanent.
Membership participation may change, but your original Founder number and recognition as one of The Founding 100 remain yours.
What happens if I cancel my Society membership?
If you decide to leave the Society, the eligible Mahjong collection currently in your possession is yours to keep.
Additional membership benefits, Closet Credit earning, Vacation Drops, and future Closet Refresh eligibility end according to the applicable membership terms.
Do unused Closet Credits roll over?
Closet Credits are intended to accumulate toward future Closet Refreshes while your membership remains active.
Specific rollover, expiration, cancellation, and reactivation rules will be governed by the current Society Membership Terms.
What happens if something is damaged or missing?
Members are responsible for caring for Mahjong Closet collections while they are in their possession.
If tiles, mats, racks, dice, packaging, or other included pieces are lost or damaged beyond normal wear, replacement or repair charges may apply.
Details will be outlined in the Society Membership Terms.
Are return shipping materials included with a Closet Refresh?
The Mahjong Closet will provide approved return instructions and, when applicable, prepaid return materials or labels for eligible Closet Refreshes.
Members should retain and use the designated packaging whenever possible to help protect the collection in transit.
Can I purchase a collection instead of Refreshing it?
Yes
Vault members receive 10% off eligible Mahjong Closet purchases.
Do members receive early access to new collections?
Yes. Early-access privileges vary by membership level.

Can I change my membership level?
Yes, subject to the current Society Membership Terms.
Your Closet Credit balance, benefits, billing, and Refresh eligibility may be adjusted when your membership tier changes.
